Clos des Lunes Lune d'Argent 2018
|Brand||Clos des Lunes|
This is tightly coiled now, but the range of juicy tangerine, white peach and white ginger notes should unfurl soon enough, carried by a mouthwatering quinine note and ending with a light orange blossom hint on the finish. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2026. 12,500 cases made.—J.M.
The 2016 Lune Blanche, 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc that sees new oak, has a respectable bouquet with lively gooseberry and grass clipping aromas, not powerful, but nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry with grassy tones, not as deep as the 2015 last year, but with a pleasant spicy edge with hints of ginger towards the straightforward finish. Drink this over the next three or four years.
