Frei Brothers Reserve Zinfandel 2016
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley|
Structured and tightly wound in youthful tannin, this full-bodied expression of the grape is abundant in black licorice, toasted oak and cedar. These accents ride along a pathway of juicy black fruit and toffee that should appeal to many.
Aged five months in 35% new American oak, the 2016 Zinfandel is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and reveals intense notions of crushed black cherries, raspberries and garrigue with hints of dried herbs and spice cake. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a chewy frame and lively line lifting the decadent fruit, finishing long and spicy. 5,300 cases produced.
Easygoing and full of snap, with lively raspberry and toasted spice flavors. Drink now through 2023.
