Michel Torino Don David Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
|Region||Argentina, Calchaqui Valley|
A dense, layered malbec with blackberry, chili-pepper and clove aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, yet tight and formed with a tannin structure that frames the wine nicely.
Spicy berry and plum aromas come with notes of green herbs, mint, bell pepper and sauciness. Firm acidity on the palate is poking and prodding, while this Calchaquí Cabernet tastes of herbal blackberry, coffee and chocolate. On the finish, this is fresh and lively, with manageable tannins.
Good red-ruby. Musky, varietally expressive scents of currant, tobacco leaf, green pepper and licorice. The wine's distinctly herbal character carries through onto the palate, but there's enough energetic currant, cherry and spice intensity to support it. This rather cool, nicely delineated wine finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and good length.
