Château Poitevin Médoc 2016
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Medoc|
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau Poitevin has a delightful, perfumed bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and a touch of incense. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very pure and feminine with a caressing, blueberry and cassis-tinged finish. Bon vin! This is by far and away the best wine that I have tasted from this Médoc estate. Tasted September 2017.
This wine is ripe, juicy and packed with black-currant fruits. Its tannins and wood aging are playing a good supporting role. Generous and full, this juicy wine, from a 61-acre estate, will age well. Drink from 2022.
Light brambly tannins pull a core of damson plum and raspberry fruit along, picking up lilac and iron hints along the way. Maintains fresh energy through the finish. Drink now through 2021. 26,600 cases made.
