A polished, direct style, with warmed plum and blackberry fruit laced with cocoa and tobacco notes. A rounded edge on the finish makes this accessible now, but there’s enough for brief cellaring. Drink now through 2025. 91,500 cases made. — JM

This wine delivers a robustly rich experience of lengthy appeal. Blended with 12% Petite Sirah, among other varieties, and aged in American oak, the palate shows a wealth of black cherry, cassis and blackberry around toasted oak and a hint of clove.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Allomi, coming from Pope Valley, was aged for 18 months in some old American oak, but all the new oak (25%) was French. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it features fresh, crunchy black fruit notes of black currants, blackberries and fresh plums with touches of menthol, spice box and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling black fruit and a lovely velvety texture with a lively burst of freshness coming through on the spice-laced finish. 80,000 cases were made.
