This wine boasts dry, old-school tannins that bracket the black currant fruit on the palate. It will soften as it matures to deliver crisp fruit and cleaner tannins. Drink from 2023.

Features hints of charcoal and tobacco smoldering underneath the fleshy cassis and plum sauce flavors. Shows a bay leaf shading through the finish, with a gentle-edged structure. Drink now through 2021.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau d'Arcins was showing a bit of oak on the nose but it is nicely enmeshed with the fruit and it retains admirable delineation. The palate is ripe and smooth in the mouth, the new oak coming on a tad too strongly on the finish. Hopefully that will be absorbed with time so give it another year or two. Tasted September 2017.
