|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
“Powerful and Silky”
Colour – Ruby with purple glints.
Nose – Typical of its terroir with a nose of spices, black pepper, lavender, black cherries and blackberries.
Palate – Elegant and powerful, with a distinctive velvety palate showing red fruits and spellbinding notes of garrigue. This cuvée is a pleasure to drink and will reward the most patient wine lover.
Limpid ruby-red. The highly perfumed nose features smoke- and spice-tinged red berries and cherry and picks up a sexy floral nuance with air. Smooth, appealingly sweet and open-knit, offering intense raspberry and cherry pie flavors and subtle lavender and succulent herb flourishes. Smooth tannins lend gentle grip to the floral-tinged finish, which hangs on with strong tenacity.
Well priced for a consistently high-quality wine, this opulent blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre is packed with pristine black cherry and plum flavors shaded by earth, smoke and black pepper. Penetrating in fruit and edged by fine-grained, persistent tannins, it's ready to drink now but should hold well through 2027.
A ripe, lush style, with delicious waves of raspberry, plum and boysenberry confiture rolling through, laced with red licorice and fruitcake flavors, backed by a sweet tobacco note. Maintains freshness and shows some accessibility already. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2020 through 2032.
Textbook notes of spiced red and black fruits, black licorice, and peppery garrigue emerge from the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Domaine Barville. It hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, building tannins, and overall balance in a nicely concentrated style. Enjoy this well-made, outstanding Provençal wine over the coming 10-12 years.
