Chateau Fourcas Dupre Listrac-Medoc 2016
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Listrac|
|Brand||Chateau Fourcas Dupre|
This is tasting beautiful this year, very enjoyable fruit extraction that manages to be intense but not overdone. The tannins are firm but could perhaps be a little more pliable to fully open up the structure of the wine. Classic, with lovely menthol notes and a good example of the work being done in Listrac right now. Planted to 44% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon with the rest Cabernet Franc and a splash of Petit Verdot.
The medium ruby-colored 2016 Château Fourcas Dupré offers pretty notes of blueberries, cherries, and flowers to go with a medium-bodied, balanced, rounded, impressively textured style on the palate. It's a terrific Listrac that has real depth.
The 2016 Fourcas-Dupre has a medium garnet-purple color and nose of redcurrants, kirsch and blueberries with hints of earth and bay leaves. The palate is medium-bodied, soft, fresh and juicy.
