Dark and very intense colour of deep ruby. Ripe aromas of small black fruit dominate (blackcurrant, blackberry), though with good freshness. The palate is fleshy, with a nice touch of tannin. Long, caressing finish. To be watched during ageing, which will seek to bring out the harmony and the balance.

Blueberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry in the nose with some sweet tobacco and moss. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that are polished and savory. Fruity yet reserved finish. Give this two or three years to open. Try after 2023.

91-93. Barrel Sample. Always a reliable wine, this is a fine summation of the vintage. Poised between fresh black currant fruits and some serious tannins, it has plenty of potential. The wine's crisp edge will keep it bright and vibrant as it develops over the medium-term.

Direct, with a good mix of cassis, bitter plum, savory and tobacco notes. Fresh and focused through the finish, with a lingering hint of chalky minerality. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2023. 70,000 cases made, 9,000 cases imported.
