This wine comes from a small Chardonnay enclave in the predominantly red premier cru of Beaune Grèves. With its intense exotic fruit and apricot flavors, it's both ripe and crisp with acidity. That makes for a delicious reflection of the vintage, needing time to mature. Drink from 2020.

An opulent texture sets the stage for cherry, blackberry, spice and tobacco leaf flavors in this red, which firms up on the finish, with a crisp, chalky feel. Best from 2020 through 2032. 125 cases made, 110 cases imported.

The 2014 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves le Clos Blanc was affected by hail this year, but that does not impede upon the nose that in fact has a little more chutzpah than the Beaune Bressandes at the moment. The palate is well balanced, vibrant with a keen line of acidity. There is good depth here, not the most complicated white Beaune you will find, but nicely focused and with a long, tender finish. Very fine.
