The 2022 Château Maillet is a highly rated red Bordeaux blend from the Pomerol appellation, known for its opulent, rich, and silky profile. This vintage is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, crafted using micro-vinification techniques where the wine is fermented and aged entirely in 100% new French oak barrels.

Plenty of sweet spices, dark chocolate, espresso beans, licorice and cigar box here, with concentrated, ripe blackberries that are still fresh and quite dense. Compressed and tannic, with full body and a very long finish that lasts over half a minute. This needs time to allow the extracted, dusty tannins to soften more. Drink after 2027.
