Pairs well with most meats, braised or grilled. Also perfect when served with hearty fish, pasta, and Asian dishes.

This has aromas of boysenberries and dark berries with a wealth of bracken and gently tarry aromas, too. The palate has a fresh, fleshy and quite concentrated feel with fine tannins that hold the finish long. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot.

This estate, with its historic connections with the Swedish royal family, is now performing well. This latest vintage, with its rich tannins and dense flavors, has concentration as well as attractive black-fruit lusciousness. Drink this well-balanced wine from 2023.

The 2016 Bernadotte has a fresh, minty, Pauillac-like bouquet that is well defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, brittle tannin matched with a fine bead of acidity. This feels fresh and focused, with a classic graphite-tinged finish that feels classy. Excellent. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux.

The 2016 La Bernadotte has a clean and precise bouquet with cigar smoke infused blackcurrant and bilberry fruit. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied and a little too oaky on the entry, however, there is satisfying depth to this Haut-Medoc and I appreciate the savory finish.

Bright, with high-pitched raspberry and bitter cherry coulis notes, lined with savory and wet stone accents. Brisk-edged finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2021.
