This red blend is made from estate vines averaging 50 years old. The vineyards are dry-farmed, without pesticides or herbicides, and hand harvested. Monastrell’s bold fruit is perfectly in balance with the earthy notes of Cabernet and Syrah, producing a blend that shows complexity and balance. Rich in flavor and texture with fresh acidity and finessed tannin structure. Each varietal is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels separately before blending. Explosive aromas of ripe currant, red berries and smoked notes. Rich, powerful and voluminous on the attack, silken and juicy in the mid-palate with excellent length and persistence. Fine, ripe tannins, at once supple and structurally present.

Bright violet in the glass, this wine has aromas of raspberry, cherry and nutmeg. It is soft on the palate with prominent spice flavors of clove and menthol backed by black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate and a note of espresso on the finish.

The 2019 Juan Gil Red Blend was produced exclusively for the US market with 45% Monastrell, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah fermented and matured separately for 12 months. It's ripe at 15% alcohol, and the oak is still quite obvious, creamy and spicy. The palate is medium to full-bodied with abundant oak-related flavors and quite a lot of tannin, finishing dry and a little astringent. It has a very specific style. 54,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in June 2021.
