Great wines are produced in unique places. Alta Vista’s 516 acres of estate vineyards are situated in the best terroirs of Mendoza, at 3,200 feet above sea level. Each vineyard receives expertise that is tailored to each grape variety via specific treatments called Terroir Management®. The wine undergoes extended maceration to extract aromas and intense color. Part of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, before an additional 3 months aging in bottle.
The 2021 Estate Malbec was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco (Campo de los Andes), and half of the wine matured in lightly toasted French oak barrels for one year. It’s fruit-driven, with integrated oak that gives it a spicy twist and varietal aromas and flavors. It’s sleek and polished, easy to drink.
Ripe dark fruit and spice flavors show rich sanguine notes, with hints of mocha and dark chocolate, followed by crisp tannins on the firm finish. Drink now through 2023. 417,000 cases made.
Rubbery blackberry aromas come with a touch of campfire smokiness, while the palate is fresh and smacks with juicy acidity. Herbal black plum and black currant flavors are common to Mendoza, with scratchy dryness to the finish.
