When the Château Angélus philosophy of excellence is applied to a selection of different Saint-Emilion terroirs, No. 3 d’Angélus results. Blended with 85 to 90% Merlot, this wine is made for instant enjoyment as soon as it is delivered from the winery. It is a refined version of its illustrious parents, which provides enjoyment while waiting the necessary years for the First Wine and Carillon d’Angélus to reach their full maturities. The vines used to grow No. 3 d’Angélus are cultivated with the same care as those used to make its elders and their fruit is vinified with the same precision. The yields are larger and the wine is aged for a shorter period with no recourse to new wood: only one- or two-year-old barrels are used. No. 3 d’Angélus is an easy-going, attractive wine, which gives its all when very young and can yet benefit from being kept for five to eight years.

The 2020 No. 3 d'Angélus is a gorgeous wine. Plush, sensual and deep, the No. 3 conveys all the radiance and intensity of the year in its super-ripe fruit profile and rich, heady personality. The No.3 will delight readers upon release. Aging is in 30% new oak and 70% stainless steel.

Coming from a mix of terroirs in Saint-Emilion, the 2020 N3 D'Angelus is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, raised in 40% new barrels. Black cherries, redcurrants, smoked tobacco, and spicy notes all emerge from the glass, and it's a round, supple, forward, and fruit-loaded 2020 perfect for drinking while you cellar the Grand Vin.

Exhibiting aromas of cherries, sweet berries and plums, framed by creamy new oak, the 2020 No 3 d'Angelus is medium to full-bodied, velvety and supple, with a bright core of fruit, supple tannins and a saline finish. It's largely produced from the estate's young vines.
