Hints of maple syrup join with chocolate and vanilla on the nose (that's the oak talking), backed up by masses of dark, plummy fruit in the 2018 Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz. Full-bodied, concentrated and intense, it's dense and rich-a dark-chocolate cake of a wine, with layers of black cherries and creamy ganache, ending in a long, plush finish. This won't be for everyone-I'm not sure I'd want to drink more than a glass or two of it-but it's impressive nonetheless.
